The Central Connecticut United Synagogue Youth (USY) chapter provides social, educational and religious programming, to encourage our children to develop and expand their Judaic knowledge and commitment. Most importantly, USY is fun! We invite all of our 9th through 12th graders to join our USY chapter and to participate in exciting activities, at the chapter, regional, and even international level!

Shalhevet

The USY Creative Arts Magazine

Shalhevet was first published in 1997. It contains prose, poetry, and photography by USYers from across the continent, including many works inspired by USY summer program experiences. Editing Shalhevet is the main project of the Jewish Culture Chair on the USY International Board.

Shalhevet comes out at every International Convention.

You can request a copy of the most recent Shalhevet online!

The 2001 Shalhevet staff is now accepting submissions. If you write stories or poems if you are an artist or a photographer, submit your work. Let your creativity touch everyone in USY.
